                      About DC Beit Midrash

_In the seminal text of the Jewish oral tradition, the Mishna, the sage Shammai teaches: "set a fixed time for your study of Torah" (Pirkei Avot, 1:15). The DC Beit Midrash is a great opportunity to set a fixed time for Jewish learning in your regular schedule.

DC Beit Midrash is an open, accessible and non-denominational space for Jewish learning in DC. People from all different backgrounds and with different levels of knowledge and observance are encouraged to join our community. We encourage traditional chevruta (paired-learning) study and engagement with Jewish texts in a curious, open, and honest spirit. Chevruta pairs study everything from the weekly Torah reading and tractates of the Talmud to the philosophy of Spinoza and seminal texts of the Kabbalah. What are you interested in studying?

DC Beit Midrash is co-sponsored by the Washington DC Jewish Community Center and the DC Minyan
